6135 A.W.Roebuck, Esq/WHA. Pa.{Mr Paterson}1/EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}28.5.37. Bentley Instrument Boards. Replying to Cr.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester}12/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}26.5.37, we quite agree that the proposed separate revolution counter should be introduced at the same time as the new patch. There will be no difficulty about it being fitted with a concave dial. The new patch is being worked on and the only question not yet completely decided is whether the carburetter control and petrol pump switch shall be included in it. To include both presents some little difficulty, but the carburetter control can be introduced alone for Phantom III and 25/30 by modifying the Phantom III patch. An alternative proposal is to use the present Phantom III patch for all cars and provide the controls as separate items, as required. This would mean that the new arrangement can be put in hand at once subject only to the concave dial in the rev. counter. We hope to come to a decision in a day or two, and shall then send you a sample of the proposed Bentley board. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
