X.2575 Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/Ms22/FJ11.10.20. 11th October, 1920. Messrs. London Electric Wire Co. & Smith Ltd., Playhouse Yard, Golden Lane, London, E.C.1. Dear Sirs, Fuse wire for Junction Boxes. Ref. "R" With further reference to your quotation dated Sept 28th, we have tested the 17 S.W.G. and 18 S.W.G. Fuse Wire submitted and find that they are not suitable for our requirements and we shall be pleased if you could forward to us a sample of 19 S.W.G. and also sample of 20 S.W.G. having the same analysis as the 17 S.W.G. and 18 S.W.G. already submitted. From our test, the 17 S.W.G. fused at 49 amperes first sample, second sample fused at 65.5 amperes and the 18 S.W.G. fused at 52 amperes; what we require is fuse wire capable of fusing at 30 amperes to 35amperes under the conditions laid out in our Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}/Ms29/FJ2.9.20, dated Sept. 2nd. We should like, if possible, the quality of the material to be the same as that used on the 30 S.W.G. Fuse Wire. With the samples, we should be pleased if you could give us the reference numbers or letters so that whichever proves satisfactory, we could forward to you our official order for same. Thanking you in anticipation, Yours faithfully, | ||
