X.3923. RE. NEW CAR FOR MR.

With reference to the new car to replace 1.EX at W.W., there will be no difficulty in getting you the most up-to-date chassis fitted with all the latest improvements.
There is, however, considerable difficulty in fitting to the car a new body. The best promise we can get for a new body is four to five months. We propose, therefore, to prepare for you a chassis fitted with all the latest improvements which will be ready by the beginning of June.
The only body, however, we could fit to that chassis is the one which is on 2.KX Car which we brought to W.W. on our last visit. The body, of course, will be completely done up, new scuttle and instrument board fitted and the seating position made satisfactory. Mr. Day is going to give us particulars of the modifications to be carried out on this body. When those are completed it is proposed that a design should be got out for a new body which, as soon as it has been agreed to by you, will be placed on order. When the body is completed we could arrange to let you have another car and fit the new body to the chassis.
We think it is time that a new body was designed because the present bodies which we have are from a design agreed to by you about seven years ago.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
