Hallam - Head Repairs} /NRC {N. R. Chandler} 21/EW25.2.27. G.D. FLATHER ESQ. Chassis GMK-49. Stamp: RECEIVED The above owner has complained bitterly about the Steering of his 20, ever since he took delivery of the car in August 1924. We had the car at W. a few weeks ago and fitted the following parts :- New .700" Pitch Worm and Nut. New Side Steering Tube with more flexible springs. New Spring-loaded Cross Tube. As this car was fitted with the multi-disc type of Friction Device in the Steering Pivots, we re-arranged these discs so as to give a single friction surface only, i.e. all the externally serrated plates together and all the internally serrated plates together, because we considered the full friction in the Pivots plus the cross tube friction, would be excessive. Mr.Flather took delivery of his car on the 9th. inst., and on the 23rd. inst, while passing through Derby, he called specially to say how delighted he is with the great improvement in the Steering and that he can now drive long distances without fatigue, whereas previously he would never use the car for a long journey.
