1256. To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Mths.{Reg Matthews}4/JH.19.3.37. Further to our memo. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Mths.{Reg Matthews}1/DJ.15.3.37. the Pistons in question have no piece number as yet, are known as Autothermic pistons made to a design submitted to us by the Birmingham Aluminium Casting Co.Ltd., In a recent letter to us the Birmingham Aluminium Casting Co.Ltd., agreed to supply experimental sets of pistons at bulk prices, the price quoted being £41.5.0. per 100 when produced in AP.122 alloy. The first experimental sets are to be made in AP.122 and R.R. 53 alloy, the latter pistons may of course cost slightly more.
