COPY Rolls-Royce of America, Inc. Springfield. Mass. Queensbor Plaza, Long Island City, May 8, 1930. To: Mr. John Southern. From: Mr. Hosac. For your information, it is sufficient to say that during the first three months this year Cadillac sold and delivered approximately one thousand of the 16's, and they are doing this largely on performance. If the Rolls Royce company is to stay in front of the parade, or is to get back to the front of the parade, they have got to deliver to the public comparable power. By 'comparable power', I particularly mean that which we are up against on the street in everyday driving. I have preached this, and preached it, since 1924, and if our people cannot believe it and want to go on kidding themselves, I suppose it is their business. Power to go and power to stop are the two essentials in American traffic, and again I say to our friends there 'come and see'. WEH:MAW (Sgd) W.E.H. DM{D. Munro} typed May 20, 1930. | ||
