TOOL KITS. PHANTOM 11 & 20/25 HP.

It has been suggested that we supply more tools with our chassis than are necessary to do the jobs which we should expect to be done outside our own Depots.
We supply tools to do work which we recommend in our Instruction Book should only be done by our own mechanics; e.g. removing hubs, adjusting clutch operating levers.
It was agreed to call a conference to discuss this matter. Those present were By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}, Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}, MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}, Oy., Mr. Archer (for EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}), and HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL.
The whole tool kit was examined and it was agreed to delete several tools which were considered unnecessary, it being understood that these tools should always be available at our various Depots.
A further reduction in the kit to be supplied with the left-hand Phantom 11 cars for America to suit the different conditions existing in that country, was also agreed upon.
The tools and spares which it is proposed to delete from the tool kit are as follows :-
Tools for dismantling front hubs and pivots.
" " rear hubs.
1 Screwdriver. (We supply two at present.)
Gas pliers.
Tools for adjusting the clutch operating fingers.
