X.50. Report on Edison Cells. X 560

I have had Edison cells in constant use since previous report (26/11/12) and I find they give good results on the coil system, having had as much as 47 amp. hours work out of them. I have had 58 amp. hrs out Exides (40 amp. hr cells)

The Edison cells behave extraordinary when left standing. I have had the experience of completely running down the cells to .5 volts and left standing 10 hours and recovering themselves to discharge again 20 amp. hours (7 amp. discharge) This same cell acted in this way 3 times before discharging.

The C.A.V. cells are inclined to drop when left standing.

I have not taken any discharge curves of C.A.V.'s yet, having to rig up a board for charging same so that I will know what is put into them.

All reports are from Test Garage charging.

Weights re cells

Edison's cells only, no box. - 12 volts 16 lbs 14 ozs.

C.A.V's cells only, no box.(120 amp.hr) - 12 volts 72 lbs 12 ozs.

Edison cells including tray & fittings (40 amp hrs) - 12 volts 28 lbs 4 ozs.
