pattern tread that does not at some time during its life. We believe the cause of these periods is hard rubber in a new tyre and when 50% approx worn the uneven surface of the tread These in many cases become tapered the thickest portion being the leading edge This is due to the scrubbing action as the tread is leaving the road. The edges of the tread as the tyre revolves strike the road at an angle and at certain speeds the vibration set up in the tyre synchronizes with the transmission. The same applies with a small pattern with large spaces and not tied. This is very noticeable with the Michelin type of tread. We show a sketch of our views. | ||
