DERBY.

Dear Mr. Robotham,

I am sorry not to have replied to your letter before, but I have been away from the office for a few days.

I regret very much that you have had such a disappointing experience on the tyre question. On discussing the matter with our commercial side, I find they were not in possession of all the facts contained in your letter. They did not know for example, that you had made a test of six laps for the purpose of obtaining tyre information.

It is not in my province to deal with the commercial arrangements between our respective companies, but if you would kindly write to Mr. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Shankland at Fort Dunlop, I am sure he will be ready to reconsider the decision in regard to the invoices.

Our representative who was present at the Race has not reported at headquarters since then. When he does so, we will go over all the results with him with a view to avoiding such unfortunate happenings in the future.

Yours faithfully,
For THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO LTD.,

A Healey

Works Director.
