To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to EFC. E5/G20.10.19. X.3362. RE DISTRIBUTION BOXES FOR WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town. We have received one of the above, and there are three points that Mr. Royce would like to have attention on the remaining two boxes, providing they are not yet despatched:- (1) The top line of screws securing the slate bases to the aluminium of the box should have their washers deleted and their heads completely sunk into holes counterbored in the slate, so that they will clear the conductors connected to the top terminals. (2) The two slate bases should be mounted on sheets of insulation, so that the heads of the screws which secure the brass fittings shall not be earthed on the aluminium box. (3) The lid{A. J. Lidsey} should be held on by a 2 BA wing nut, instead of an ordinary nut. In the event of the boxes having been despatched, would you kindly arrange to forward the wing nuts, and we will attend to the other points here. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
