Re- Two-way Foot Switch of R-R Design for Central Lamp Scheme.

Thank you for your EFC1/AD22930 together with copy of E4/M20930.

We are still very anxious for Works to develop an English foot switch for this lighting system. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has reported that arising out of tests of many devices this third lamp scheme would appear to be easily the best so far tried. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s remark about this system was made when using a car abroad and he said that the centre lamp is not appreciated by the oncoming car. I think a good deal depends upon the angle at which the centre lamp is set, as if it is set with its beam too much in the direction of the approaching traffic I can quite understand that the oncoming car would not appreciate it, but if the lamp is directed well to the side, where it appears to me to be of more use than otherwise, then I think it is appreciated by the oncoming car; at least that is my experience of this system. It is hoped, therefore, that the design of an R-R foot switch will be proceeded with.
