c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/BC. 61353 BY.2/G.S.5.5.39. CURRENT CONTROL ON INSTRUMENT BOARD. At the Conference on Tuesday last Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} expressed the opinion that a master switch was a necessity to control current distribution on the instrument board. To make sure that the matter had been fully considered, I queried his remark pointing out that for very many years no master switch was fitted, and very few, if any, complaints were received. He was very positive, however, that a master switch must be provided, which cut off everything. Following this, I pointed out that a complaint had been made when the master switch was added that they could not switch a light on until they had found the key hole and unlocked the master switch. To overcome this, two suggestions were put forward :- (a). Lights controlled by the doors, which would not be on the master switch. (b). A separate switch near the nearside front door, which again would not be controlled. It therefore means that the master switch is not absolutely a master switch, but it does completely cut off all electrical functioning parts on the chassis. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
