To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X3593 Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M19.1.22. VACUUM FEED WAVE AND TANK X.3593. I have examined the specimen tank you sent us and discussed it with Mr. Royce, and he is of the opinion that we might try it. We have looked into the question of putting it on the car, and there appears no difficulty about finding a place for it. We should therefore like you to fit it up and make the experiment. The specimen however you sent us is not mechanically very perfect. The extra vacuum device which destroys the vacuum in the upper tank works very stiffly, in fact, as we received it we had to prise it with a screw driver to make it work at all, as it was rusted up. Mr. Royce does not think much of the mechanics of this parts, though he thinks that the other part is better than the Autovac. Would you please take it up with the Weyman people, whether this extra vacuum device is really as standard, or whether the sample sent us is a dude one. As the whole of this mechanism is soldered up and cannot be inspected it is obvious that if this fails, one is in considerable difficulties. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
