To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} X4244 RE "GOSHAWK IIA - FLYWHEEL CASING, FLYWHEEL & MODEL POINTER. We send you herewith drawing LeC.1381 dealing with the above. We would draw your attention to the following modifications:- (1) Flywheel is in cast iron with steel gear ring shrunk on. (2) Pitch circle of flywheel casing bolts slightly increased. (3) Gear case spigot slightly decreased in diameter. (4) Clearance machining for gear teeth does not cut through bolt bosses. (5) Bolt bosses on gear box all made the same length to allow of turning faces. (6) The set screws for holding on the clutch cover are replaced by studs as shown on the drawing, two of these studs having tubular dowels for positioning the cover.
