Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your letter of the 18th inst. ref. ARF/VL. {V. Lewis / Mr Valentine} The visit of your representative Mr. Clarke enabled us to clear up several points and to choose the cable which appears to be most suitable for our requirements.

On the larger size cables Mr. Clarke showed us a device consisting of a square wire spring which added flexibility to the solid casing about 6" from the end so as to convert the vers sine error. As we intend to use your smallest solid cable we should like the dimensions of a similar device on this cable. This is in order that we may design suitable metal covers. Perhaps you will be able to let us have a piece of the small cable with the spring device fitted.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
