I have received your memos and arranged by telegram to telephone to you on Tuesday at 9.30 A.M. this being a slack period for the calls to England.

With Regard To 35-EX.

The rear axle pinion has developed considerable slackness in the housing. We dismantled the pinion but could not get to the bearings not having the necessary withdrawing tackle.

The roller race on the inner shank was loose This portion of the shaft had been copper plated, evidently to take up slack in the roller race. There was also .018" end play on this bearing.

We shall have to wait until the car goes to Paris to examine the main ball races. We have not received any instructions with regard to the parts being sent out for the rear axle.
