X4263 c. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 13/H2.1.24. re. 20-HP Clearance of Leathers on end of Cross Steering Tubes. With reference to the complaints raised on the recent 10,000 Miles test 20-HP car with regard to the above, the clearance of these leathers is a very close job, and although every care is taken in fixing these leathers so as to obtain the maximum clearance, we still find this is doubtful under full lock conditions. We suggest a different shape be made for the end of this leather cap so as to give more clearance. We suggest that the cap instead of being a square end should be a cone shape with the apex cut off. We shall be glad to go into this matter with you with cars on test. EP. {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
