from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c. to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to EPC. X3741 RECEIVED NOV 7 1922 H8 Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}3/NJ7.11.22. Luthy Hydrometers. With further reference to mine Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}7/NJ27.10.22 and with reference to Roy{Sir Henry Royce}12/MG30.10.22 and Byl/P7.11.22, I am in receipt of a further letter from Rolls-Royce of America Inc. dated 25th ult. as follows:- "We have just today learned that the Luthy Products "Corp. has been purchased by R.W.Bacon, 123, Waverly Place, "New York, and they advise that they have a small quantity "of Luthy Hydrometers on hand but that they will make up "for you any number that you may desire, the price being "the same, namely, dollars 75.60 a gross, f.o.b. New York. "They ask if we can advise them our requirements for "the coming year and if we so advise them they will reserve "a sufficient quantity to take care of our needs. "If you will let us have this information, we will be "glad to communicate this to them." At the present rate of exchange the above-mentioned price works out at about 2/5d. per instrument, delivered f.o.b. New York. To this must be added the cost of transport and import Duty here, which will probably amount altogether to not more than 1/- per instrument, making in all 3/5d. per instrument. I do not think it is possible to obtain in this country an instrument of this type at anything like this price. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} | ||
