x524 To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.6/JH.19.3.36. Bentley & 20/25 Flexible Bladed Fan. We have run the 20/25 flexible blade fan which you built up for us on the test bed and the results obtained are promising. However, one of the spring blades has developed a crack at the root of the blade, due to heavy local stress. We should like you to modify the EX details to incorporate a backing strip of spring steel of same thickness as blade, projecting about .125" from root of blade in order to strengthen up at this point and build us a set of blades with this feature incorporated, retaining the same blade thickness (.010).
