Re Goshawk II - Back Axle, Brakes, & Road Wheels.

We send herewith a print of "N" Scheme 741 shewing the back axle with 14" brakes and Dunlop wire wheels.
We have obtained particulars of the Dunlop wire wheels hubs, but they have no "E" type wheels, except the standard 40/50, and the "D" type are not such well-proportioned wheels.
We have therefore suggested that they would be willing to make us a new small shell, on the lines of the "E" type, which is shewn on "N" Scheme 744.
The axle tube spring pad we have taken from the LeC drawings of the brake operating gear. The brakes themselves are increased from the present Goshawk I. But otherwise we have followed this same general design.
We have increased the rear springs to 2¼" wide, in accordance with your instructions received yesterday.
We also send a print of "N" Scheme 749 shewing the spring pad in detail, enlarged for 2.25 springs.
We are proceeding with the centre gear box.
We notice that the axle tube flange is desired to be the same as the Goshawk I, except for removing the scalloping.
and we have accordingly increased the bolt circle diameter so as to follow the general construction laid down for Buzzard.
