Dear Sirs, Cams and Rollers. Order No.17800. We acknowledge with thanks receipt of your letter of the 22nd instant sent for the attention of Commdr.Matravers and received here during his absence. We are sorry to say that we have had trouble with the manufacture of the cams, the first one being scrapped due to rags in the bore. The second cam also developed the same feature when broached but was not so bad as the first cam, and in view of the fact that this is for special experimental purposes, we are sending the cam along to you to-day marked for your attention, together with the rollers, in the hope that it will be suitable for your purpose. If the cam is not satisfactory, we hope that it will meet your urgent needs, and on advice from you that we are to put in hand a replacement, we will arrange for this to be done with all speed.
