| To C. From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to En. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.8.11.33. Replying to C.15/CS.11.33. Although we do not wish to make any specific recommendation for Bentley cars to be run on Ethyl petrol, if there are complaints of 'pinking' or detonation this fuel should be used. There is no increase in performance with this petrol, the sole virtue of it is to reduce detonation; the disadvantage of it is that it is liable to attack exhaust valves in a mild degree (the same trouble as we have on aero engines). This is not likely to occur under average running conditions. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
