FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Copy to - HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} INDIA 3. COUPE LIMOUSINE X5830 FOR R.{Sir Henry Royce} X5260 The coachbuilders and Derby between them have spoilt this car. The original instructions were that the bonnet and scuttle up to the chariot face should be painted black. The reason for this is that black does not discolour on the bonnet. The coachbuilders made the mistake of covering the scuttle with grey fabric, and as there was no time to have this blacked, we asked Derby to finish the bonnet grey, and Barker's were instructed to supply the necessary varnish paint for them to do so. As it is now, with a black painted bonnet and grey scuttle, we agree that the appearance is very bad indeed. We shall endeavour with R.{Sir Henry Royce} to let us have the car for 3 days to enable Barker's to put the matter right. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
