To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to CJ. c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} BY: S E C R E T. ORIGINAL E.A.C-S. X9940 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}8/LGS.10.23. We have a set of front wheel brakes fitted to an axle suitable for 40/50 chassis. The axle with brakes are now under a chassis. We are, of course, a long way off getting the complete equipment for operating the brakes. Having an axle with brakes fitted is very useful, because the clearances are so fine at a number of points that it will give an opportunity of arranging the limits to avoid fouls.
