1020 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} ------- BY.6/G.16.12.36. I am sending you herewith two each of the following bearings :- GB.2035 - Bentley rear axle bevel thrust and journal. G.83388 - Phantom lll - bearing for similar position. The Order Office have obtained these from Messrs.Hoffmanns because they are cheaper, the difference in price being :- Ransome & Marles. Hoffmann. G.B.2035 20s. 3d. 18s. 6d. each for 200 16s. 4d. " " 400 G.83388 26s. 0d. 23s. 6d. " " 200 22s. 5d. " " 400 Our object in supplying you with the bearings is that it is necessary to make sure that the bearings are at least as good as Ransome & Marles. Personally, I should prefer to leave well alone at this juncture, as I am under the impression it is generally conceded that both these bearings are overloaded, certainly the Bentley is. BY.{R.W.
