FIRST 12 SETS.

1st. & 3rd. MOTION SHAFTS. SECTION 6040.

In accordance with verbal instructions from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}, it is considered advisable that the 2nd. Speed Synchro-Mesh should be brought into line with the final Production pieces.

This can be done without scrapping any of the parts already produced by modifying the specification as follows :-

1st. Speed Driven Gear GB.4977.

Take the blanks as at present turned and produce GB.5169.

2nd. Speed Cone GB.4989.

Take the pieces at the operation they are in at present and make to GB.5168.

2nd. Speed Driven Gear GB.4988.

Take the pieces at the operation they are in at present and make to GB.5125.

We shall make the necessary LOP. alterations as soon as possible.
