X. 2575 To EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thrn. from EFC. C. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} C. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} EFC1/ATI 8.11.20. X.3749.-RE FUSE WIRE FOR LUCAS SWITCHBOX. X.2575 The fusing current of this wire is only as low as 4 amps. in exceptional circumstances i.e. when the current is passing through the wire for some considerable time. In no normal circumstances will the fuse in the field circuit of the machine, when properly fitted in the fuse holder, ever have to carry more than 3.0 amps., and in the ordinary way it can be considered as fusing at from 4.5 to 5 amps. In any case this wire does not fuse so readily as what we have been using in the past, and we are sure that it will be found satisfactory in service, hence the wire should be used. It is no use stating the size of the wire too high else the fuse will not part when required. We think that the wire now obtained will be the best compromise between the two conditions. EFC. | ||
