HOTEL DE FRANCE. CHATEAUROUX. Indre. France. To. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 35-EX. PHANTOM III. N.S. Front Suspension Unit. You will note from the Daily Reports that we have experienced bad oil leaks out of the air vent on top of the N.S. spring box. These have stopped again except on very bad roads. Could they be due to the oil in the working cylinder of the damper being forced back into the spring box past the replenishing valve, causing it to overflow out of the vent ? We have not got a drawing showing the internal parts of the unit, so are rather in the dark as to the possible causes of the trouble. Will you please instruct us what, if anything, we should do about the leak, should it become bad again. ---------------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH{George W.
