Armature Circuit. (Cont'd).

conductors in all, with 22, or, 2 virtual conductors in each slot.

The slots are cut at an angle of 10° from a parallel with the axis, and are insulated with empire cloth to a thickness of .008", and presspahn .009" thick, the coils being further protected by being bound with cotton tape treated with shellac varnish, to a thickness of .010".

The length of the armature core is 2.7 inches, with a shallow groove at each end to take a bond of steel wires,
