To Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} N4084 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG15.12.22. SUGGESTED SPARES FOR 20 HP. CHASSIS. We are not attempting to give you a detailed list of recommended spares. We give below a list of special points which we think should be taken into consideration when the list of spares is got out. We consider, that from your experience with the 40/50, you have a much better idea as regards what the spares should be. The following list of parts we consider will be the first to wear when the car is given the usual amount of attention. 1. Spring bushes, shackle bushes and hardened washers to take end play. 2. Pivot pins and pivot pin bushes. 3. Bushes and star pieces for universal joints in propeller shaft. 4. Brake liners also aluminium brake shoes. might fail. 5. Contact breaker arms and contact breaker screws. 6. Brushes for Generator. 7. Batteries. 8. Fan Belts. It may be considered unnecessary to send such things as spring bushes abroad because they could get them made locally. There may be other parts which could be considered in the same way. Further list :- 1. Connecting rod bearings. Owing to the bearings being run direct into the rod, when this design was decided upon, it was considered that Depots should be supplied with complete sets of connecting rods and when necessary a complete new rod should be fitted and the rods which are removed should have the bearings re white-metalled and returned to the Stores and used on another car. | ||
