To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/wst. c. CX.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} PH. RV. c. WGP. HP. X6031 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/wst.2/AIM 3.1.32. HIGH FREQUENCY ELECTRIC HORN On 18-GIV we had, as you are probably aware, a Lucas alto medallion type high frequency horn mounted on the front cross member in front of the radiator. This horn proved to be very effective and was pronounced to have been the best tried out in France under high speed conditions obtaining on 10,000 mile tests. The horn being placed in front of the car and of the particular type in question, gives a far reaching penetrating sound and is far superior to the present motor Klaxon inside the bonnet. We should be glad if a scheme could be produced for the next 20/25 car going out to France showing this horn in position in the front in a place fairly unobtrusive in order not to interfere with the lines of the front apron. One single wire will be needed which could be tapped off from the distribution board and run along with the head lamp wires. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/wst. | ||
