X1280 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.10/KW. 20th December, 1935. Messrs. John Marston & Co.Ltd., Paul Street Works, WOLVERHAMPTON. For the attention of Mr. Southall. Dear Sirs, Referring to your letter of the 11th inst., for which we thank you, we note the comparative weights and prices of the Mark V & Mark VI matrices. We are rather surprised that the 58 m.m. Mark V matrix weighing 38.5 lbs. is dearer than the 64 m.m. Mark III matrix weighing 46.0 lbs. We should have expected the reverse to be true. We shall take the opportunity of discussing this matter with Mr. Southall when he visits us this week, as mentioned in his letter of the 10th inst. We should like you to make for us a 52 m.m. Mark VI matrix (the dimensions to E.59596 attached) for our 20/25 HP. car. We require this at the earliest possible moment, and are sending you our official order immediately. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
