Emergency modification to a coupling using three discs.

| In the coupling which we have had to build up here to meet an emergency, we have enlarged the plates, being forced to do this largely because of the fact that having had to use three discs instead of one xx it is necessary to overcome any tendency to gaping or opening between these three elements. The plates we have fitted therefore extend from the inner diameter to the outer and are much nearer to each other leaving only a parallel gap of 5/16ths" between same.
