I believe you have had some Kestrel cylinder liners treated by him, and I understood him to say that he had contacted with Bailey. In any case, I believe it would be worthwhile to have a further talk with him and arrange for him to have a shot at chromium plating a number of your exhaust valves. He admits that, so far, he has only chromium plated exhaust valve stems, but he does not think that he will have any difficulty with the plating of exhaust valves so far as flaking of the chromium is concerned.

Heron also agrees that it would be a good scheme to have him try out some exhaust valves and cylinder barrels and, for instance, a Bentley cylinder block, to see if he can make a good job of them. If he can there is no doubt that a lot of trouble will be saved in many directions.

Very many thanks to you and Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} and everyone for looking after us so well when we were at Derby last week.

With kind regards,

Yours sincerely,
F.{Mr Friese} R.{Sir Henry Royce} Banks.
