Compared with some of the Production Engines we have tried, 1. EX is very true. We too an ordinary production chassis and measured the alignment of the rods and found that it was as follwos:-

X.3056 OILING. As regards oiling, we have run 1. EX with the extra oil on the whole time; we have had no trouble with oily plugs but the oil consumption on a run of 600 miles worked out to 1600 miles to the gallon. This is about half as much as we did before we had the extra oil on the whole time. The condition inside the cylinder shewed that a fair amount of carbon deposit had formed on the piston tops.
