contd :- -4- 20 HP. SUSPENSION: The main difficulty with the 20 HP. front springs is that if they give comfortable riding at low speeds the car crashes almost continuously on the biffers at high speeds on bad roads. BRAKES. We are anxious to obtain an axle control for the front axle of this car similar to that which we have been testing on the 40/50 HP. STEERING. Any alteration which can be effected in the geometry of the steering to reduce joggles would be an asset. Also we consider the suggestion to reproduce the tyre contact and pivot inclination of the 40/50 HP. on the 20 HP. front axle to be excellent. The other main sources of comment on the 20 HP. appear to be : Lack of power and the functioning of the starter motor. The lubrication and petrol supply problems of the Phantom are of course common to the 20 HP. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
