Re T. Desnos. 1690.

COM/L6/W27813.

To D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} from R.{Sir Henry Royce}
Copy for J.{Mr Johnson W.M.}
Copy for Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}

With reference to the other complaints of Mr. Desnos, I do not know who was the author of the phrase in the Instruction Book, that we should put a syringe full of oil into the sphere every 500 miles.

This, the tester would soon find quite unnecessary; moreover, the dynamo belt should not be fitted near this sphere but at the front end of the gear box.

In the 4-speed gear box.13, this point has been considerably modified, so that no oil will be likely to escape at this point.

The working of the lubricating oil into the cylinders has also been dealt with just lately, so that we think the improvements in hand ought to avoid such complaints as those of Mr. Desnos, although I think a little more work and observ-ation on the part of the chauffeur would prevent such trouble.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
