Steerings. Further to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}10/KW.5.4.35, we now recommend that the side steering tube poundage also be lowered from 5 lbs. to 2 lbs. The modifications to the steering will therefore be :- (1) Oil in steering box from Amber 'A' to Castrol 'XL'. (2) Cross steering tube poundage from 10 lbs. to 6 lbs. + or - 1 lb. (3) Side steering tube poundage from 5 lbs. to 2 lbs. To obtain the reduced poundage on the side steering tube it is necessary to delete the washer C.53171, and reduce the spring C.53163 .050" in length. The rear end of the side steering tube is unaltered. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.Dodd. | ||
