-2- RE. LOSS OF OIL FROM CRANKCASE. We have been trying to reduce the oil temperature by increasing the quantity of oil in the crankcase. We find, however, that we lose a lot of oil through its surging when accelerating and braking; it rushes through the front and the rear of the engine. We cannot, therefore, increase the quantity without alteration to the baffles in the bottom half. The increased amount has not materially reduced the temperature. G.W. Hancock. G.W.H. | ||
