14-EX CAR. X7520 X7430

We fitted the shock absorbers on this car with dynamic restrictions front and rear in addition to a valve load approximately equivalent to the standard setting for the 40/50 HP. There is no doubt that the semi-elliptic spring does seem to require rather more damping than the standard cantilever. We found that the most difficult condition to cater for was driving fast on a wavy road with one passenger in the rear and a nearly empty petrol tank, a second spare wheel at the rear will prevent this situation ever arising.

We fitted the damper pendulum lever to this car.

The main difficulty experienced was fitting it up without slack, owing to the necessity of your locating points on each leaf spring. We have not had much chance to experiment with this lever but we think that the friction load on it at present is a reasonably good compromise.
