To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. Wox. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Ry. X.7535. IMPROVED FORM OF VENT FOR STANDARD PHANTOM II BATTERY. It was stated in our EFC9/AD9.7.30 that the P & R Co. had submitted to us for test an improved form of moulded Dagenite vent with coarse thread, similar to, and interchangeable with that of the Exide vent. A few of these vent plugs have been tested on a P & R battery which has run 18,700 miles. The vent plugs have shewn themselves to be very good and do not appear to allow any acid spraying to occur. We consider them to be an improvement over the porcelain type of vent and accordingly we are issuing a standardisation sheet. EFC. | ||
