To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} S. to HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} Re New-Design of starter switch. We have tested this switch, handed to us by HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}, and it failed after only three operations on endurance test due to the contacts welding together. The failure we consider is due either :- (a) Too weak a return spring. (b) Contact blades not flexible enough. We consider the design very promising and have handed it back to T.T. for modification.
