AN EXPERIMENTAL SALOON FOR INDIA.

In his R5/28.11.26. and on many other occasions Mr Royce has instructed us to obtain a light saloon for India, and has agreed that the Barkerlite body is the type that most nearly fits our requirements at the moment. He has also suggested that, as the body will be used by us on an experimental chassis, we should be sold the body at 50% discount in return for the valuable information which we would be able to give Messrs Barker & Co. resulting from our road test.

On December 6th. the writer interviewed Messrs Nutt, Munro, Lloyd and Munday and discussed the technical details of a saloon body meeting with our approval and Mr Royce's requirements, and also mentioned the suggested price adjustment. The body was represented as going to belong to Mr Royce and the Experimental Dept. because the writer had strong reasons to believe that by so doing we might obtain the most favourable terms.

The price they offered was £600 , which is 22.6% off the usual price of £775 which is noted to the ordinary customer. Had the offer been acceptable we should have handed on to you for your comments, but no' being so Mr Royce took the matter up with you, himself.
