Messrs. Delco Remy & Hyatt Ltd.,

LONDON.S.W.1.

For the attention of Mr. B. Rushton.

Dear Sirs,

A Wraith car has recently been returned to Depot after a mileage of only 3,800, due to a fault in one of your distributors.

Investigation proved the contact lever to be faulty, the rivet securing the spring and rubbing pad had loosened, resulting in a bad contact.

As this is obviously a case of poor rivetting, we are returning herewith the faulty lever so that you may take steps to prevent recurrence of the trouble.

We have experienced this trouble in the past, once on one of your units, and opine that it is due to the head of the rivet not seating properly in the counter-bore of the pad, with the result that although the rivet appears perfectly tight in the first instance, it rapidly beds down in service and becomes loose.

Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
