JRD. from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RH.{R. Hollingworth} c. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/ML.26.5.40. Most of the men we have loaned you for Aero production have been with the Chassis Experimental Division for 10 years or more. In consequence they are all bitterly disappointed that they have had to be transferred. We have pointed out to them, however, that this is in the interests of production, which is the only thing which matters at the moment. We are extremely gratified that it has been found possible to utilise the personnel at the Clan Foundry for engine work, and believe that within a short time we shall be able to contribute materially to your turn-over of repair engines. If and when it is possible for these ex-members of the Chassis Experimental Section to function as efficiently at Belper as at Derby, in other words, when you have trained some of the people you have got from Bellringer, we anticipate that you will be able to release them.
