PROPOSED MODIFICATION CRANKSHAFT CENTRE BEARING Reference the failure of the crankshaft centre bearing on Condor XI Engine No. 583. It is now proposed to embody the following modification in all future Condor XI Engines. The oil feed to the centre journal will be through No. 1 web from No. 1 crankpin, the oil being fed from the front end main bearing oil supply pipe. This modification will apply to Engines from No. 629 upwards. Engines from No. 583 to 628 inclusive, having already had the crankshafts modified, have had the new type of feed embodied.
