Experimental Chassis Test Beds.

It has been agreed to revise the programmes for Numbers 33 and 5 Beds as follows:-

No.33 Bed.

The original proposal to make this into a Universal Bed to take any type of engine is cancelled in the interests of economy.

We understand that we are not yet committed to the whole of the equipment intended for this Test House and that the items already in hand, including the universal mounting, can be applied to No.5 Test House.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} is anxious that in the event of your using No.33 as an engine test house we should provide some form of sound insulation in view of the proximity of the garage. We understand that you will arrange to fit Burges sound insulation material.

No.5 Bed.

The original estimated expenditure of £734 to be spent in modernising this Test House has been sanctioned, but no instructions have been issued as yet.

As discussed with you, you will install material intended for No.33 Bed, including the Dynamometer and Engine Mounting, in No.5 Bed.

We return herewith the correspondence concerning the matter.

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LS.
