X634 Mr Johnson 21-1-13 TBB6/L21113 Re Engine Vibration - Mr Royce's note dated 16/1/13 (attached) With reference to your note on Mr Royce's memorandum attached. As I advised you at Dover the vibration which Mr Northey complains of is an engine period and has nothing whatever to do with the axle. I understand from Mr Platford that he advised Mr Northey in the first place, and before he had tested the car, that the vibration complained of would be an axle period. We have made a great many experiments on Mr Northey's car to find out the cause of this vibration, but I would rather not issue a report at this stage, as our investigations are not completed but as far as we have carried our tests it appears that the periods are caused | ||
