For the attention of Mr. W.A. Robotham,
Development Engineer.

Dear Sirs,

CLAYTON CAR HEATER & DEMISTER

We have to acknowledge with thanks the due receipt of your letter of yesterday, reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}2/JH, and are pleased to note that you propose to try out the above unit for which you are sending us a covering order (this order was not enclosed with your letter).

Our present stocks are fully allocated but we shall have further supplies available at the end of this month when we can let you have one. We are, however, endeavouring in the meantime to anticipate this date for a sample set.

We would explain that for this equipment our supply is the heater unit only. The demister piping, nozzles, and all other fittings are provided and fitted by the Car manufacturer. In the case of S.S. cars the layout was agreed with our Technical Department and special arrangements were made by S.S. for designing the car body to accommodate the installation. We suggest it is desirable for the matter to be discussed with you on these lines and our Engineer, Mr. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Elomley, accordingly proposes to come over on Wednesday next for that purpose.
